Moet&Chandon Grand Vintage Collection 2006.
This is one of the rarest and most prestigious vintages in the Moet&Chandon house, with a longer aging on the lees, with a rich and complex aromatic profile. They are rare and collectible bottles.
Grand Vintage Collection 2006 is the perfect embodiment of the Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Collection spirit, which is based on three essential values: freedom of interpretation, selection of the finest wines of the year and individuality of the year.
Blend: 42% Chardonnay, 39% Pinot Noir, 19% Meunier.
Chardonnay, the ripest and healthiest grape, represents the largest component in the blend, while Meunier, less ripe at the end of the harvest, is present in a smaller percentage than in previous years. Pinot Noir, intermediate in terms of ripeness and health, completes the blend.
Disgorgement: 2022.
Dosage: 5g/l (extra brut).
Cellar maturation time: 15 years.
Ageing after disgorgement: At least 6 months.
Tasting notes: Bright gold color with green reflections. After 15 years of aging on the lees, the maturity of this Champagne is well developed with dry, toasted and smoky notes. The initial aromas of flint and pepper remain. On the nose, the fruit reveals itself. From the initial notes of yellow and ripe fruits, such as peach and mango, it moves on to deeper and candied notes reminiscent of dates or figs. On the palate, the attack is generous and soft as the Champagne unfolds. The prolonged aging on the lees gives persistence, with a delicious intense and bitter final note of candied lemon.
