Diego Armando Maradona joined Newell's Old Boys in the 1993/94 season, but his time there extended briefly into early 1994 before he left the club. Although there was great excitement around his arrival, his stint was short and marked by physical struggles and limited appearances. Maradona played only five official matches for the team and did not score any goals. His performances were hampered by fitness issues and off-field distractions. Despite the brief and turbulent spell, his presence brought national attention to the Rosario-based club.
