Description

Barolo Ornato is born from the selection of the best Nebbiolo grapes, coming from different micro-plots located in the Ornato sub-zone, in Serralunga d'Alba, the first municipality in the Barolo area where the company began to purchase vineyards.

To get the most out of its expression, the vinification involves an alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a long maceration on the skins, at rather high temperatures. This process allows for the best extraction of color, aromas and structure.

Aging is essential to refine the character of Barolo Ornato. The wine rests for about 24 months in large French and Eastern European oak barrels, with a small part that spends a shorter period in French wooden barriques. After the passage in wood, a long refinement in the bottle follows, which improves its drinkability even in its youth.

What makes Barolo Ornato unique is the combination of its territorial characteristics. The position of the vineyards, facing south, south-east and south-west, the altitude of almost 400 meters, and the composition of the soil, predominantly calcareous and clayey, create a warm and dry microclimate, perfect for the optimal ripening of the grapes. It is precisely thanks to these extraordinary conditions that in 1985 the company decided to produce, for the first time, a Barolo from a single provenance.

Barolo Ornato is a wine that stands out for its austerity, power and structure. Its longevity is extraordinary, capable of giving emotions even after many years.
