1968 Mario Giannini opens an artisanal workshop for the production of arts and crafts footwear named “Ducale” which harks back to when, in central Italy, the medieval duchies made the culture of arts and crafts flourish.

In a few years the workshop becomes a company and in 1973 Doucal’s is born, an English name to tell the Italian dream that appreciates the style and quality of footwear made in England.

The real leather used is natural and of great value and the signs and imperfections that can be found on it such as wrinkles and veins, as well as differences in color, are distinctive elements that enhance its beauty and value.
