Hobe brooch
Charity initiative supporting Soleterre FoundationDescription
This large American brooch from around 1940, made by the renowned Hobe jewelry house, is an elegant example of the creativity and sophistication of period costume jewelry.
The brooch is shaped like a bow and decorated with citrine and green glass pastes, which lend brilliance and a sophisticated play of light. The meticulous craftsmanship and harmonious arrangement of the pastes enhance the bow motif, transforming a simple design into a dramatic and refined accessory.
Measuring approximately 9 x 5.5 cm, the brooch makes a strong visual impact and is perfect as the centerpiece of an elegant outfit or as a distinctive element of a vintage jewelry collection.
The design is documented in Angie Gordon's Costume Jewelry, p. 169, a testament to its historical and collectible significance.
