Description

Unique vase decorated by Silvia Ziche.

Artwork created live on October 31, 2025, at Palazzo Guinigi in Lucca, during the Foodmetti event in collaboration with Alessi.

The vase, made of white ceramic, belongs to the historic collection designed by Alessandro Mendini for Alessi and was decorated with ceramic markers by Silvia Ziche — a celebrated comics artist and illustrator, among the most renowned figures in Italian humorous comics.

A long-time collaborator with Disney Italia, Ziche made her debut in 1991 in Topolino under the guidance of Giovan Battista Carpi, quickly establishing herself as one of the most beloved authors among readers. At the same time, she collaborated with numerous magazines, including Linus, Comix, Cuore, and Smemoranda, creating satirical cartoons often in collaboration with Maurizio Minoggio.

Among her best-known non-Disney works are the series dedicated to Alice and Chester Soup, published as an appendix to Mickey Mouse Mystery Magazine, as well as Angus Tales and Trip’s Strip, linked to the PK – Paperinik New Adventures project, for which she also created the complete episode Motore/Azione.

Since 2006, she has collaborated with Donna Moderna, where she writes and draws the comic strips featuring Lucrezia and her sentimental ups and downs.

In this unique work, Ziche brings her unmistakable ironic and lively style to an unusual medium, transforming the Alessi vase into a narrative object — an expression of her brilliant and distinctive artistic voice.
