Description

Atalanta match issued / worn shirt by Rossini on the occasion of the Serie A match played against Inter on 06/05/2001, during the 2000/01 season.

The match, played at San Siro, ended with a 3–0 victory for Inter.

This game is remembered for an episode that marked the history of Italian football fandom: a scooter was set on fire, kicked, and eventually thrown from the Curva Nord into the lower section of the stadium. The act stemmed from the intense and violent rivalry between the two supporter groups, fueled by past clashes and retaliations.

There are several versions regarding the causes of the incident, all linked to provocations and reprisals among ultras. The episode sparked international media outrage and raised serious questions about stadium security at the time. Those responsible were identified and convicted, although the penalties were relatively light compared to the severity and recklessness of the act.

The shirt shows signs of wear, possibly related to gaming actions, however, no photographic evidence of the same has been found and therefore it is not possible to guarantee beyond reasonable doubt that the shirt was actually worn in match (and not getting dirty in other ways over time).

The shirt comes from the private collection of a former Inter warehouse worker.

This memorabilia is part of the match supply made available to players during official competitions and is different in its features in relation to the ones sold in fanshops, it could have been worn during the match and washed after the end of the match or prepared for the match but then not used.
