On January 27, 2004, the actual "Match of Memory" was held at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, featuring celebrities from the worlds of entertainment, culture, and sports in a commemorative match dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
The main goal of the initiative was to raise public awareness against all forms of anti-Semitism and racism, and the proceeds from the event were donated to the construction of the future Shoah Museum, designed by the City of Rome.
