This shirt was worn on only one occasion during the 1986 FIFA World Cup. According to a well-known anecdote, the Argentine national team was not satisfied with the original away shirt, which was made of heavy cotton. For this reason, on the eve of the match, a new kit was urgently sourced from local markets and personally selected by Diego Armando Maradona, who considered it ideal.

Wearing this very shirt, Maradona scored one of the most iconic goals in football history, forever remembered as the “Hand of God.” Argentina defeated England 2-1 and went on to win the tournament, securing their second World Cup title.
