The Nike Mayfly are running shoes released in the early 2000s that became iconic for their extreme minimalist approach: designed to be incredibly lightweight and performance-focused for racing, they feature an essential construction with an ultra-thin mesh upper and a stripped-down sole, but with a deliberately limited lifespan of around 100 kilometers, from which the name,inspired by the “mayfly” insect, known for its very short life.

In the early 2000s Nike used the Mayfly for races and activations, also producing ultra-limited versions tied to major marathons that were often not sold to the public, and considering that the Marrakech Marathon was already an international event, this context is consistent, making this pair very rare, likely a sample, PE, or event-issued release, with extremely low production numbers and almost impossible to track online.
