In 1984, defender Luca Pellegrini was a pillar of Sampdoria. He arrived in 1980 and soon became the team’s captain. That year, under the presidency of Paolo Mantovani, Pellegrini played a key role in Sampdoria’s rise, which laid the foundation for the club’s historic successes.

The small green-and-white “nr” logo, embroidered on the right side of the chest, is the trademark of Nicola Raccuglia (hence the initials N.R.), a former soccer player and sportswear designer.
