Willis Reed was an American professional basketball player and coach, widely regarded as one of the greatest legends in New York Knicks history. Selected with the eighth overall pick in the 1964 NBA Draft, he spent his entire playing career with the Knicks, leading the franchise to two NBA championships in 1970 and 1973. Best remembered for his courageous performance in Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals, Reed became one of the few players in NBA history to win the regular season MVP, Finals MVP, and All-Star Game MVP awards in the same year.
