Training shirt of the Italian Olympic Football Team, 1988 season, prepared/worn for/by a player of the Italian squad.
The shirt, manufactured by Diadora, features the classic Italian blue colourway with a white collar and sleeve cuffs, the Diadora logo on the chest, and the “ITALIA” lettering (a distinctive feature found only on shirts issued to the first team), also in white. The distinctive intersecting geometric line pattern characterises the design of the shirt.
The year 1988 was particularly significant for the Italian Olympic Team, which competed in the football tournament at the Games of the XXIV Olympiad in Seoul. Italy finished the tournament in fourth place, narrowly missing out on an Olympic medal.
