Rare embroidered triangular pennant dating from 1946, associated with a basketball match between Pallacanestro Como and the club that would go on to become one of the most prestigious and successful teams in Italian basketball history, Olimpia Milano.

Made in the characteristic style of the period, the pennant features an elegant fabric composition in red and light-colored panels, embellished with gold embroidery. One side bears the inscription “G.S. Lombardia – Pallacanestro – Como”, while the reverse features an embroidered crest together with the date “October 1946.” The piece is completed by its original-style cord and gold tassel, a distinctive feature of presentation pennants traditionally exchanged between sports clubs on official occasions.

The year 1946 represents a particularly significant moment in the history of Milanese basketball, as it marked the birth of the club that would eventually become today’s Olimpia Milano, following the union of important basketball organizations active in Milan at the time.
