Yorkchair is a sculptural chair designed by Parasite 2.0 as part of The Pet Collection by Elanco, a collection that reinterprets the relationship between design, domestic space, and the animal world.

The project draws inspiration from the Yorkshire Terrier, translating some of the breed’s most recognizable features into structural and decorative elements of the chair.

The entire structure is covered in long-pile fur in warm shades of brown, enveloping the seat, backrest, and sides to create a continuous, soft, and highly tactile surface. The chair’s compact, almost cubic form is thus transformed into a deliberately zoomorphic presence.

The backrest directly evokes the head of a Yorkshire Terrier: two large drooping ears extend from either side, while the distinctive gathered topknot, one of the breed’s most recognizable features, emerges from the center. It is accentuated by a metal bow, introducing a cool, reflective detail that contrasts with the softness of the upholstery.

Yorkchair  in equilibrio tra seduta, scultura e design concettuale, reinterpreta l’immagine familiare del cane domestico in un elemento d’arredo ironico e riconoscibile.

The structure is made of metal, wood, and upholstered materials and measures 60 × 60 × 60 cm.

Yorkchair is part of The Pet Collection by Elanco and was designed by Parasite 2.0, an architecture and design studio whose practice spans architecture, design, and scenography, and which has collaborated with institutions and brands including the Venice Architecture Biennale, Fondazione Prada, Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, IKEA, Missoni, and SUNNEI.

Halfway between art and design, the piece is conceived as a true collector’s item, primarily intended for display and capable of adding character and personality to any space. It can also be used, provided it is handled with the care and caution appropriate for a collectible design piece.

The work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by a co-author and representative of Parasite 2.0. The certificate will be shown and provided to the successful bidder.
