A miniature replica of the World Cup trophy, crafted by the historic Milan-based company Bertoni, the same Italian manufacturer that produced the original FIFA trophy based on Gazzaniga's design.
The miniature faithfully reproduces the cup's iconic shape, featuring the two human figures supporting the globe and the distinctive spiral structure rising from the base to the top. The trophy has a gold finish and is mounted on a heavy, dark marble square base streaked with natural light veining.
A plaque is affixed to the front of the base bearing the "INA Assitalia" logos and the inscription "ITALIA ’90," linking the piece to the 1990 FIFA World Cup, held in Italy from June 8 to July 8, 1990.
The original "BERTONI MILANO" label is also present on the back of the base—a particularly significant detail that identifies the manufacturer.
The piece measures approximately 17 cm in height and 5 cm in width, with a substantial weight of around 833 grams; these characteristics—along with the marble base and the quality of craftsmanship—distinguish it from standard commercial replicas of the trophy.
These miniatures were produced as commemorative and presentation items for individuals associated with the tournament, including players, staff members, sponsors, and other stakeholders involved in the event.
The 1990 World Cup concluded on July 8 at Rome's Stadio Olimpico with West Germany defeating Argentina 1–0, thanks to a penalty kick converted by Andreas Brehme. Host nation Italy finished the tournament in third place, with Salvatore Schillaci emerging as the standout star and the competition's top scorer with six goals.
