Description

A Unique Artwork, Yet to Be Created

Whoever wins this experience will not receive an existing artwork, but will have the opportunity to become the subject of an original portrait, conceived and created especially by Giovanni B. Tresso.

The process begins with a meeting with the artist and a dedicated photographic session. Through a series of shots, Tresso observes expressions, gazes and subtle movements, searching for that instant in which the image is able to reveal something beyond mere appearance: the essence of the person.

It is from that moment that the portrait takes shape. The photograph becomes the starting point for the painting: the face is reinterpreted through colour, mark-making and texture, until it is transformed into a unique work, created by hand by the artist in acrylic on canvas.

The portrait may be dedicated to one person or to a couple. In the latter case, the work can be developed through the Alter Ego concept, in which two halves of different faces meet within a single image: two identities, two individualities, one relationship.

The artist

Giovanni B. Tresso is an Italian artist whose research focuses on the face, identity and human nature. Portraiture lies at the heart of his practice, understood as a search for what makes each person unique. His creative process begins with encounter and photography, before being transformed on canvas through a contemporary, richly textured acrylic painting technique. His work has been presented in Italy and internationally, with exhibition projects in New York, Miami and Dubai.

A personal and unrepeatable artistic experience, transforming a face into a work of art and a moment into something made to endure.

The images in the gallery show a selection of portraits commissioned from Giovanni B. Tresso, including those of Renzo Rosso, Arianna Alessi, Antonino Cannavacciuolo and Oscar Farinetti, together with images documenting the creative process.
