Description

Two stalls tickets to attend a concert by the Filarmonica della Scala, conducted by Maestro Santtu-Matias Rouvali, with Bomsori Kim as violin soloist.

Programme:

  • Henryk Wieniawski, Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 22
  • Jean Sibelius, Symphony No. 1 in E minor, Op. 39

With Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1, a rarely performed masterpiece by his fellow countryman, Finnish conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali comes to La Scala. One of the most sought-after conductors of the new generation, he is known both for the care he brings to interpretation and for the close relationship he builds with musicians. He is Principal Conductor of London’s Philharmonia Orchestra and works with leading orchestras and soloists around the world. He is particularly acclaimed for his interpretations of Sibelius’s symphonic repertoire.

Bomsori Kim, one of South Korea’s most highly regarded violinists on the international stage, performs with prestigious orchestras and renowned conductors and is a prize-winner at major international competitions. The first South Korean artist to sign an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, she performs Wieniawski’s rarely heard Violin Concerto No. 2.

She plays the 1725 Guarneri del Gesù “ex-Moller” violin, made in Cremona and generously loaned to her on a long-term basis by the Samsung Foundation of Culture of Korea and the Stradivari Society of Chicago, Illinois.

The concert will take place on Monday, 9 November 2026 at 8.00 pm at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
