Description
Competition bib worn by Olympic champion Marta Maggetti, gold medallist in the women’s iQFOiL event at Paris 2024. A keen sportswoman from a young age, before taking to the waters of the Gulf of Cagliari she tried basketball, mini-volleyball and artistic gymnastics. At the age of eight, inspired by her father, she discovered her passion for windsurfing.
In the youth categories, she achieved remarkable success thanks to her undisputed talent. At the Tokyo Olympics, held in 2021, she narrowly missed out on the podium, finishing fourth. Two years later, she firmly established herself on the international stage by winning World Championship gold in Brest in iQFOiL, the new Olympic windsurfing class.
In 2024, she qualified for the Paris Olympic Games, where on 3 August she won the gold medal after making two decisive overtakes at the second windward mark.
In 2025, she received the prestigious FIV Sailor of the Year award during the 31st edition of the Velista dell’Anno FIV - Stelle della Vela.
