This painting is part of the “READ!” series, a project developed from an alphabet of hand-painted wooden cubes designed to be arranged and interacted with, encouraging viewers to engage with letters, symbols, colours and new perspectives.

The work presents the word “freedom” translated into several languages: apparently different words, yet all united by the same meaning. “Freedom” becomes the freedom to communicate, to express oneself and to be oneself. Playful and dreamlike in character, the work also carries a deeper message, inviting reflection on both the self and the contemporary world.

Through the letters A, B and C, painted on movable cubes, the artist evokes the beginning of a journey, transforming the opening of the alphabet into a metaphor for a new beginning.

Today’s world has accustomed us to looking, reading and writing quickly, almost as if in a countdown. To read READ!, you have to stop, take in each letter and each word, and perhaps imagine how you yourself would compose it - what you would want to say or think, in complete freedom.
