Description
Murano glass jar made with Scavo technology by master Alfredo Barbini in the 1960s.
Alfredo Barbini was born in 1912 and is considered one of the most prestigious masters of the twentieth century.
From an early age he began working with blown glass; first at the Zecchin glass factory Martinuzzi where he learned the technique of working with solid glass, then at the V.A.M.S.A. glass factory.
(Vetreria Artistica Muranese Società Anonima) where he refined his technique. In 1946 he became director of Gino Cenedese furnace. In 1950 he founded the Vetreria Alfredo Barbini where he could give free rein to his creativity.
