The most sumptuous, dreamy, and enchanting ballet returns to the stage of Teatro alla Scala in an exclusive event dedicated to those under 30. The Sleeping Beauty, the "ballet par excellence," a symbol of imperial magnificence and absolute elegance, is presented in one of its most captivating versions: the one created by Rudolf Nureyev, who chose to debut it at La Scala in 1966 alongside Carla Fracci, marking a historic moment in 20th-century dance.
First presented in 1890 in St. Petersburg, this ballet was born from an exceptional collaboration between choreographer Marius Petipa, composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and director of the Imperial Theatres Ivan Vsevolozhsky, who also designed the original costumes. The aim was ambitious: to recreate the golden, fairytale grandeur of the Sun King's court before the eyes of the Russian nobility.
