Description

Official match-ball issued/used for a Club World Cup match of the 2025 season.

What’s New in This Edition:

The 2025 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup marked a turning point in the history of the competition:

For the first time, the tournament featured 32 teams, divided into 8 groups of 4, following a format similar to that of the FIFA World Cup for national teams. This expansion signaled the end of the traditional 7-team mini-tournament.

The event took place from 15 June to 13 July, 2025, in the United States. Key innovations included the introduction of referee body-cams, a semi-automated offside technology powered by artificial intelligence, and a special FIFA transfer window to facilitate player moves before the tournament. In addition, a significant prize pool was allocated to the participating clubs (over 50 million for the winner), making the event not just a sporting showcase but also an economic one.

Sporting Results:

Chelsea were crowned world champions after defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on July 13, 2025. It was the London club’s first world title. Among Italian teams, Inter was eliminated in the Round of 16 with a clear 2-0 loss to Fluminense, while Juventus exited in the quarterfinals after a 1-0 defeat by Real Madrid. The tournament’s top scorer was Rodrygo of Real Madrid, with 6 goals. The competition also highlighted the high level of international competitiveness, with clubs from Asia and South America reaching the quarterfinals, demonstrating the global balance in club football.
