Description

Arsenal match issued / worn shirt by Thierry Henry in a Premier League match, 2005/06 season.

Thierry Henry, with the captain’s armband on his arm and the number 14 on his back, embodied the heart and soul of Arsenal during the final season played at Highbury.

This relic is not just a match shirt, it is a true emotional tribute to the temple that, for nearly a century, housed the history of the Gunners.

The redcurrant color, inspired by the club’s original 1913 kits, was no coincidence: it was a nod to the club’s roots, its tradition, and its deep sense of belonging. On the chest, the Arsenal crest is accompanied by an embroidered inscription:“Highbury 1913–2006”.

That season, Henry was the leader and iconic figure of the Gunners. As a charismatic captain, he carried the team with his unmistakable style, a blend of elegance, speed, and instinct.

He was the one to score the final hat-trick in Highbury’s storied history, in the farewell match against Wigan, before kneeling and kissing the turf.

This shirt also witnessed an unforgettable European journey: Arsenal, led by Henry and Arsène Wenger, reached the Champions League final for the first time in the club’s history. Though the campaign ended in a narrow defeat to Barcelona in Paris, the feat remained epic. At every step of that journey, that redcurrant shirt was on the captain’s back, proud and defiant, as if to constantly remind everyone where it all began.

This shirt became a symbol of Highbury and of what Henry was to Arsenal: not just a goal scorer, but the very face of a generation, a true leader who, in that shirt, so simple and powerful, wrote the final pages of an unrepeatable story.

This memorabilia is part of the match supply made available to players during official competitions and is different in its features in relation to the ones sold in fanshop, it could have been worn during the match and washed after the end of the match or prepared for the match but then not used.
