Born in Iceland, raised in Russia, and developed in Italy, Ekaterina Antropova has become a true star of international volleyball, joining this club in 2021.
She made her debut in 2018-19 with Academy Sassuolo in Serie C, moving up to the first team in Serie A2 during the 2020-21 season. In 2021-22, she stepped onto the Serie A1 stage with Savino Del Bene Scandicci, winning both the Challenge Cup and the CEV Cup, earning MVP honors in each, before leading the club to its first-ever league final in 2023-24.
After obtaining Italian citizenship in August 2023, she immediately joined the national team, with which she won gold at the 2024 Volleyball Nations League and the Paris Olympic Games, confirming her status with another VNL gold in 2025.
