BARBERIS MILENA
Charity initiative supporting Associazione CAF OnlusQuick bid
Description
Title of the work:
The Graces
This work was part of an exhibition I held in Milan in 2009 entitled "Almost Another." At that time, I was photographing the Madonnas, the small votive images in the niches of homes. I sought, through my model, to create a visual dialogue between tradition and modernity. I filled spaces of devotion with a new presence and invited a more intimate and personal reflection on the female figure. On the one hand, iconic beauty, and on the other, the tangible and sensual beauty of the human body. All this without arguing between ancient religion and our contemporary reality, which is closer to us. Valerio Magrelli, a poet and scholar, saw the work and wrote the poem "The Age of the Trap," based on a photograph by Milena Barberis. Published in the collection "Il sangue amaro" (The Bitter Blood), published by Giulio Einaudi in 2014.

For this charitable initiative, Memorabid is responsible for collecting pre-auction bids.
The final closing of the lot will take place during the event on Monday, November 3rd, at 6:30 PM in the Salone d'Onore at Triennale Milano.
At the end of the pre-auction, the highest bid received for each lot will constitute the starting bid for the in-person event. If there are no further bids, the pre-auction winner will definitively win the lot.
Pre-auction winners will receive an email inviting them to raise a maximum bid, which will be carried forward to the auction on November 3rd to protect the interests of the online pre-auction participant.
Winners of the online pre-auction will also be offered the opportunity to defend their bid by participating remotely at the November 3rd event, via the telephone auction mechanism directly through the CAF Association.
