That season, the German champion, a two-time Ballon d'Or winner (1980 and 1981), enjoyed his first year at Inter, leading the Nerazzurri's attack with class, charisma, and power. Coming from Bayern Munich, Rummenigge immediately brought his international experience to the table, becoming the technical leader of an ambitious and spectacular team.
In Serie A, he played 26 games and scored eight goals, becoming one of the key players in a season that saw Inter finish third in the league. His performances were also decisive in cup competition: five goals in nine UEFA Cup matches and the same number in the Coppa Italia, helping the Nerazzurri reach the European and domestic semi-finals.
His name remains linked to memorable matches, such as the 4-0 victory against Juventus on November 11, 1984, highlighted by a brace that set San Siro alight.
