Buccellati

For over a century, Buccellati jewelry has been a symbol of creations of unparalleled beauty and quality, drawing on and innovating the millennia-old heritage of Italian goldsmithing traditions.

Our story begins with Mario Buccellati, our founder, a visionary who understood and interpreted his time, transcending it, creating a style that has borne his name for over a century.

Mario Buccellati was born on April 29, 1891, in Ancona. After his father's death, he moved with his mother Maria and his siblings to the "great Milan" of the early twentieth century.

Upon arrival, he received an apprenticeship with the goldsmiths Beltrami and Besnati, who had a well-established business in the heart of the city, at Via Santa Margherita 5, between La Scala and the Galleria.

Here, young Mario learned the finest Italian goldsmith traditions, its age-old techniques, its materials, but also how to manage a workshop, select artisans, and understand customer tastes. And, above all, as a keen and curious observer, he grasped "Milaneseness," that aura of discreet and dignified elegance that he later became the finest exponent of among goldsmiths.
