Italian baseball and softball federation

The Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) is responsible for organizing and promoting baseball and softball in Italy. It is affiliated with CONI.

It organizes all levels of Italian baseball championships, the blind championship, and all softball championships, both men's and women's.

It manages the national baseball and softball teams that participate in tournaments organized by the World Baseball and Softball Confederation, the Confederation of European Baseball, and the European Softball Federation.

FIBS was founded in late 1948 from the merger of the Italian Softball League and the Italian Baseball Association. On January 29, 1950, FIBS merged with the Italian Baseball League (LIB), creating the Italian Baseball Federation (FIPAB). In 1953, it was recognized by CONI as a member federation and in 1957 as a full federation. In 1970, it reverted to the name of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS), which is its current name.
