Ballyfin Demesne Estate
There is nothing else in Ireland quite like Ballyfin Demesne. This magnificently preserved Regency house is set within no fewer than 614 acres of parkland and woodland, just an hour from Dublin. The exterior has been beautifully restored, while the interiors offer a contemporary yet classic interpretation of the house’s original style. The main house features just 20 rooms and suites, each combining refined period elegance with all the comforts of a modern luxury hotel. The Gardeners Cottage, meanwhile, has been transformed into a self-contained residence for two: a two-storey house with its own private kitchen and dining room, as well as a hot tub on its secluded terrace.
At the heart of daily life at Ballyfin lies its eight-acre walled garden, which supplies the kitchen with seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs. Executive Chef Richard Picard-Edwards creates his menus in close collaboration with the garden team, and in early 2025, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star.
Lunch is traditionally served in the Turner Conservatory, while dinner is enjoyed by candlelight in the atmospheric State Dining Room. Guests can also explore the extensive wine cellar and take part in Irish whiskey tastings.
Finally, the estate features a Wellness Area offering a peaceful and relaxing retreat, complete with a naturally lit swimming pool, vitality pool, sauna and gym.
