Baume & Mercier

The history of Baume & Mercier begins in 1830. The brothers Louis-Victor and Célestin Baume opened a comptoir horloger (watch shop) in the Swiss Jura region, in the village of Les Bois.

The Baume Brothers' company expands rapidly and, faithful to its motto "Accept only perfection, produce only watches of the highest quality", it builds an excellent reputation thanks to the creation of exceptional examples that boast internal innovations cutting edge.

In 1973 Baume & Mercier surprised the world of watchmaking by presenting an explosive model with a sporty-chic look: the Riviera, whose distinctive design would make it the icon of the Maison for the 50 years to come. A unique, different, spectacular timepiece. The steel case and twelve-sided bezel define a style that breaks the codes of classic watchmaking.

The style is chic and athletic: the Riviera can be worn in the city or on the beach, in the office or at the weekend, at home or while travelling.
