Oltre L'abito - Fondazione Soleterre
MUTABITO is a symbolic garment capable of transforming itself into different shapes, a metaphor for change and continuity between body, soul, and matter. A project that goes beyond the function of clothing to become an artistic language, wearable sculpture, and space for interaction.
Conceived by Selene Giorgi, an artist who works in the fields of art, fashion, and artistic jewelry, MUTABITO stems from research focused on the body as a place of experience and transformation. In her work, clothing becomes an “other body,” a symbolic container in which memories, emotions, and inner processes are deposited.
At the heart of Giorgi's practice is the theme of care: creating clothes and jewelry is a salvific act, capable of healing wounds and bringing about rebirth. The concept of “clothing as care,” close to the principles of art therapy, makes the creative process a tool for well-being and support in moments of individual and collective fragility.
MUTABITO's works, made with light and sustainable materials such as silk, also embody an ethical and social dimension. All proceeds from the creations donated by the artist go to Fondazione Soleterre ETS, in support of the Soleterre Children Center in Palestine, a center for the treatment of war trauma. In this way, clothing is transformed into a concrete gesture of solidarity, combining aesthetics, responsibility, and commitment.
