Soleterre Costume Jewelry
A charity auction of costume jewelry for Soleterre's emergency projects in Palestine, supporting children with cancer and war trauma.
Each piece tells a story of art and rebirth, quality, and style.
These pieces of costume jewelry were created in the United States between the 1940s and 1960s, designed to restore color and hope after the Great Depression of 1929. They were collected over the years by donors Lucia Vullo, Lidia Santomauro, and Isa Rossi Dabbene.
Since 2024, Soleterre has supported the only public hospital for childhood cancer treatment in Palestine, Beit Jala Hospital in the West Bank, where a third of the children admitted are battling leukemia and other forms of cancer. Many of them come from remote and war-affected areas. To address the physical and emotional trauma of these young patients, a local psycho-oncologist has been appointed to provide psychological support and educational and recreational activities at the hospital. In recent months, Soleterre has undertaken remote care for patients from Gaza, working with doctors in the Strip and at the organizational level in the West Bank to facilitate their admission, which was only hampered by political reasons. They provide lifesaving drugs, cancer treatments, and support to social and healthcare workers.
