Riccardo Patrese is one of the most important Italian drivers in the history of Formula 1, competing in the World Championship from 1977 to 1993. Over the course of his career, he achieved 6 victories and 37 podium finishes, and fought for the world title in 1992 with Williams, finishing second in the championship.

In 1979, Patrese raced for Arrows, driving the British team’s single-seaters derived from the Arrows A1/A2 project. That year he stood out for his speed and talent, achieving solid results and helping to strengthen Arrows’ reputation as a competitive midfield team capable of challenging more established rivals with limited resources.
