Ivan Capelli was one of the most representative Italian drivers in Formula 1 during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The 1992 season was particularly significant in his career, marking his move to Ferrari, one of the most anticipated yet also most challenging moments of his time in the World Championship.

In 1992, Capelli drove the Ferrari F92A, a single-seater featuring innovative aerodynamic solutions but lacking overall competitiveness. The season proved to be difficult, with results falling short of expectations and numerous reliability and performance issues. Despite these challenges, Capelli’s experience remains tied to an important chapter in Ferrari’s history and to the determination of a driver who had already proven his talent in previous years with March and Leyton House.
