Description

Pasta. 1983. Original silkscreen poster, 70 x 95 cm. Hand-signed at the bottom. In perfect condition.

This poster is one of the most famous and appreciated of Razzia's entire production and is perhaps the work that brought him fame and recognition the most: the following year, he was chosen by the fashion house Louis Vuitton to design the promotional and celebratory posters for its extraordinary social events.

Gérard Courbouleix–Dénériaz, aka Razzia, is one of the greatest artists of poster art and advertising illustration of the late twentieth century. His career began in the 1970s, when he worked with some of the most important labels, especially French ones, and especially Louis Vuitton. His style vividly evokes the spirit of Art Deco, the golden age of European and American poster art. The original subjects of Razzia's posters are hand-painted in oil or acrylic, using a painting technique, without the use of computer graphics. They are complemented and enriched by the silkscreen transposition of carefully studied and appropriately placed text. The resulting work is simultaneously retro and modern, persuasive and incisive, sensual and assertive, and effectively communicative.

The poster is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

The work will be delivered framed.
