Founded over 30 years ago by Cristina Mondadori in memory of her first granddaughter, Centro Benedetta D'Intino ETS supports children and young people with complex communication disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders and psychological difficulties, alongside their families.

We believe that every child has the right to express their needs, wishes, emotions and thoughts, and to participate fully in the world around them.

For many children, communication does not happen through words. It may take the form of eye contact, gestures, pictures, symbols and alternative communication tools that enable them to make themselves understood and connect with others.

This is why, for over thirty years, Centro Benedetta D'Intino has been a leading centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), a clinical approach that helps children with communication disabilities associated with neurological, genetic, chromosomal and neuromotor conditions, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders, find their own way to communicate and achieve the greatest possible level of independence and participation.

Every day, our work extends beyond the children themselves to the people who share their lives: parents, siblings, teachers and carers. Because communication is about building relationships, understanding others and being understood.
